Tyler James

Tyler James, born in Chesapeake, Virginia, got his musical start attending the Virginia Governor's School for the Arts while working on his teacher’s farm to pay for lessons. Tyler has since performed in major venues across the United States including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, Radio City Music Hall, the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, and the Boston Opera House. He has held residencies with both the Zodiac Trio and the Ēnso String Quartet, and recently had the honor of performing the Elgar Concerto as soloist with his alma mater, New York University. Tyler was awarded a full scholarship to NYU where he studied with esteemed pedagogue Marion Feldman. Currently, Tyler working with Terry King, protégé of the legendary cellist Gregor Piatigorsky, at the Longy Conservatory of Bard College.
