Violinist Cheyenne King-Bails is building a vibrant solo, chamber, and recording career that has already taken her to Carnegie Hall in New York, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and prominent venues across France, Spain, Italy, Monaco, Denmark, Netherlands, and the Czech Republic. Cheyenne is a recent graduate of the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings where she pursued a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance. She was in the violin studios of Amy Schwartz Moretti, David Kim, and Robert McDuffie, and honed her chamber music skills in the studios of Annie Fullard of the Cavani Quartet and Lawrence Dutton of the Emerson String Quartet.

 

Cheyenne was the Associate Concertmaster of The National Youth Orchestra of the United States for their 2016 European tour. She has also served as concertmaster of multiple orchestras including Philadelphia Sinfonia, Philadelphia All-City Orchestra, Luzerne Festival Orchestra, and the Youth Orchestra of Bucks County. She has been invited to participate in prominent festivals and advanced programs including The Castleman Quartet Program, Aspen Music Festival, Dalí Quartet International Music Festival, Philadelphia International Music Festival, Luzerne Music Festival, and LyricaFest Boston.

Additionally, Cheyenne has participated in the Settlement Music School Advanced Program as a member of the Snitzer and Newman Quartets, both coached by Sidney Curtiss. She has worked with internationally acclaimed artists including Diane Monroe, David Finckel & Wu Han, Richard Aaron, Laura Bossert, Terry King, Edward Aaron, Charles Castleman, and Francesca dePasquale.

Recent career highlights include the 2016 recordings of Mike Mills’ Rock Concerto for Rock Band, Orchestra, and Solo Violin and Phillip Glass’ Symphony No. 3, as well as a 2019 multi-city tour of Mills’ Rock Concerto with renowned violinist Robert McDuffie and members of R.E.M. and The Rolling Stones. Cheyenne is the 2012 winner of the Black Women’s Education Alliance Scholarship Award for academic and musical achievements as well as the 2012 Roads Competition. Her passion for music advocacy motivated her to begin to establish the Unity Project: A Multicultural Music Alliance that is dedicated to bringing together musicians across all genres to create new opportunities to collaborate and perform their music.
